Log Homes

Shuler Log and Timber works from an individual “Scope of Work” prepared for each project, and it represents your complete turnkey structure. This means everything provided by Shuler Log and Timber is clearly stated so that you, the customer, know exactly what you are paying for.
This is where we define every aspect of the construction process, the allowances included for your product choices, as well as the materials that will be used. Although lengthy, our “Scope of Work” is meant to be thorough so that there is nothing left out and you, the homeowner, know exactly what we are providing. Working through the Natural Element Homes design process will provide you with plans and elevations that will define every aspect of your project. What you see and what is defined in our “Scope of Work” is exactly what is built. This allows you to be confident that the finished project is what you expected it to be.
No drugs or alcohol permitted on the job site
Profanity of any type is not tolerated

Timeliness and punctuality are expected

Founder and President, Shuler Log and Timber Homes
Michael Shuler brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience as a residential and commercial building contractor, with particular expertise and passion focused on the construction of log homes, timber frame structures, and innovative hybrid home designs. Hybrid homes uniquely blend different types of construction methods and finish materials, incorporating natural materials, timber accents, and timber framing within the same structure, creating distinctive architectural styles that combine both rustic charm and contemporary functionality.
This specialized field of construction has remained his greatest passion and represents his most fulfilling type of project to undertake, as it allows him to combine traditional building techniques with modern engineering principles. His introduction to log home construction began at the young age of seven, when he had the invaluable opportunity to work alongside his grandfather on the construction of a log home nestled in the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina. This formative childhood experience not only sparked his lifelong fascination with timber frame construction, but also established the foundational knowledge and appreciation for craftsmanship that would guide his entire professional career.
